Week 42.5 Game Day Activity & Temple Trip 2/25/2017

This week was pretty good! we were able to have a game day activity and it was pretty good because we had some nonmembers came, which was what our ward mission leader was hoping. It was a 3 1/2 hour activity, but little kids are so energized that they can go forever. I feel like we as HSK elders and sisters really put a lot of work into it, and used our faith, and we had miracles. The sisters were able to find a new investigator from the activity.

As for church it was also pretty good because we were able to have a person we met last week come to church, and he has also been reading the Book of Mormon! :) we are happy that he is a new investigator. He is a rapper and pretty cool. It is an interesting situation. He found the church online and came and wanted to find out more. He is christian and wants to know why we receive so much flack for what we believe. He does kind of have a hard time with prophets but we hope that by reading the Book of Mormon, he can find his answer.

I also loved that we were able to go to the temple this week. I received some much needed revelation that I felt like I needed and afterward we practiced with Elder Love for the lion rock musical fireside. It is really long to go from here to Kowloon because of the time it takes to travel, but it will be worth it!

Also I read in D&C 20:5 and 6 it is talking about why Joseph Smith had a quiet period where he did not receive revelation, and this built my testimony because I realized that a false prophet would not criticize himself. This revelation reveals to us the weakness of Joseph Smith. so that built my testimony of the prophet Joseph Smith

Also Elder Quentin L Cook is coming in a month!!! (I think its him) but an apostle is coming and I am so excited!! its funny because Hong Kong does not have any mission that borders it, we are bordered by china and the sea. so we don't tune into a broadcast but we get to have an apostle come!! i am so very excited :)

we are the branches from the tree of life whose core is Christ. We have all the fruit that grow on us and often times forget to acknowledge Christ who if feeding and nurturing those fruit and we get to feel the success of his work. He is the greatest seed planter.

Week 41.5 Easter in Hong Kong 4/16/2017

This week has been fun!!
not too much change but it was good to be in Hung Shui Kiu.
We had exchanges and I was with Elder Brandse, but I didn't take any pictures of the exchange :(
sorry not too much today but there are insights, no worries :)

Easter was great! we watched the church video a lot! #PrinceOfPeace.

we are extremely ungrateful to our Father and to his Beloved Son when in all humility with "broken hearts and contrite spirits" we are unwilling to keep the commandments

Week 40.5 General Conference 4/10/2017

hey everyone!! this week has been pretty good because of General Conference and now we can sleep with the a/c on!!! [in Hong Kong, we only get to use the a/c in certain months of the year]

We went English class finding with a few other companionship and it was pretty funny to watch people's reactions.
we also do service at crossroads a charity and it was super fun just being physically active and not boring, and feeling like I am providing for someone's temporal need. I know that it is a truth that people must be satisfied physically before they will yearn for the spiritual.

ok back to General Conference, it is especially love it when I can find answers to questions that I ask, and questions I didn't even know I had.
My favorite talk (from Conference) is President Russell M. Nelson... and the impression I had was... "don't forget it is not the atonement that changes you, it is Christ that changes you through the atonement." I have realized that I have forgotten Christ in the atonement which makes sense...

new area and zone

quotes I loved from general conference
sacrifice soften's hearts
through his atonement we are no longer satisfied with our sinful lives
we are imperfect people trying to learn a perfect language
this gospel was orchestrated, and organized before the world was organized
God can hear the songs that you cannot sing
we need to treat others more important then ourselves

That is all for this time!!!! :) have a great week!! :)

Week 39.5 Elder Chin in Hung Shui Kiu 4/3/2017

well not that much happened this week. we did a lot of service but nothing really had the result that we were hoping for. We only taught like 2 lessons.

I think though that God knew that I would get discouraged and put Elder Chin as my companion. He is so fun and I love him to death! we are trying to find more time to go finding, not necessarily because we think it will have the greatest outcome but we feel that God will bless us. We also have been working with our ward mission leader to do [or] have a game day.

I guess the best moment I had from this week was when I was studying about Enos and I just felt really connected to him and his inner struggle. and I just thought about how at some point, we have a deep yearning for truth and light. I don't know yet what I am to learn from Hung Shui Kiu, but I feel like I will know soon.

I have been transposing music for a musical fireside for the lion rock stake conference that Elder love and I will be preforming at as well. it was interesting :)
